Experience is described by function. Employers, partners and addresses are withheld by design.

Meridian Development was founded by Herminio Torres, a twenty-five-year operator of New York City residential portfolios. His career spans luxury Manhattan towers, Brooklyn waterfront assets, and — for the better part of the last decade — some of the largest affordable-housing preservation portfolios in the country, where he led property-management organizations through NYCHA PACT conversions, nine-figure occupied rehabilitations, and the compliance regimes that follow. He holds a B.A. from Adelphi University and an M.S. in Finance from New York University.

From the front desk to the closing table.

Twenty-five years, described by function rather than by employer. What the roles have in common is that every one of them was accountable for buildings that stayed occupied while the work happened.

The line of true north.

A meridian is the line of true north — and the sun's highest point in its arc. We named the firm for both: honest bearings, and holding assets to their high point. It's also the line in our mark.

Operator's rules.

Four things that decide how an engagement is run. They are not a philosophy — they are the reasons a finding gets closed rather than filed.

  1. 01

Walk the building before writing the memo.

  2. 02

    Numbers first, narrative second.

  3. 03

Residents are the point, not a line item.

  4. 04

    Say the hard thing early.

Bring us the deal, the deficiency, or the decisions you're stuck on.

Let's work it through.
